Two rhino calves have been rescued. About 6-7 weeks aged female rhino calf was rescued from Sirke Island of Narayani River Near Laugain, Nawalparasi. Local fishermen saw it on 21 June trapped in a tree stump and informed Chitwan National Park authority. Local people guessed it was floated in Narayani River so happened to breakup with her mother. It was injured possibly from a male rhino. Veterinary treatment is continued. 


Another 3-4 weeks aged male rhino calf was rescued on same day from Narayani Island west from Amaltari, Nawalparasi. It was seen alone in that area without contact with his mother for two days. Both the calves are being reared in Chitwan National Park HQ Kasara.
